Bid on Blue Legislative Highlights

How fun is it to put your money where your mouth is! Bid on Blue is an evening fundraiser hosted by Persist Alabama where money raised in the event goes to democratic candidates. In addition to the silent and live auctions, the audience had a chance to see and hear the great democratic candidates. Did you know that for the first time since 2006, there is a democratic candidate for every seat across all levels of government in Alabama!

We often hear about the asinine things that the folks in Montgomery are trying to do or have done, like HB541, requiring voters to be a registered party member to vote in the primaries furthering political polarization in Alabama. Doug Jones, gubernatorial candidate, spoke a message of unity. An Alabama for all. He gave a shoutout to the legislation brought forward by Marilyn Lands. HB14 is a bill that would allow people of Alabama to propose AL constitutional amendments through public petition. There are good things happening in Montgomery too!

So let’s move forward with bidding on blue at the state house for the rest of the legislative season! Call your representatives in support of bills that will make a positive difference in Alabama!
